Giving Back
I always knew that whatever I ended up doing in life, I wanted to be a blessing to other people. Because of this, Among the Wyldflowers will donate to a new organization after every 100 orders. 5% of all proceeds will go to that charity/non-profit/organization of choice.
For our first company, we will be giving the 5% of our proceeds to Vintage Life Farm. The founder, Kari Newsom, has been beyond gracious in sharing her knowledge, space, time, and resources to help me launch this company. It seems only right that this be the first company we donate to. What this funding will do is help with the expansion of her farm, where she raises animals, sells healthy chicken eggs, and educates people on living natural and healthy. She plans to expand her farm for the benefit of others. The following is an excerpt from Vintage Life Farm’s missions statement, explaining the different goals of this company:
- Self-sufficiency in our food. This has always been on my heart and more recently, my husband’s, but after 2020 and the issues our country faced with our food supply, we realized how needful this was. We do not want to solely rely on the commercial food industry for our sustenance. Not in the area of supply or origin. We plan on doing as our ancestors did – work with our hands to provide for our family and our community. Raising animals and planting gardens. Cooking from scratch, eating around the table, enjoying our time together as a family and community!
- Self-sufficiency in our health. I have never been a fan of the Western model of medicine (treatment instead of prevention/proactive) and I don’t believe any government should tell anyone how to care for their body or the bodies of their family members. Going back, again, to how our ancestors lived, I want to use what God has put on this earth to be our main source for vibrant health – food, herbs, plants, roots, soil and more!
- Enriching the lives of those in our local community. Being able to offer education and healthy food, we will create the opportunity to reach out to our local community – individuals, families and businesses. Farm to table is a goal of ours.
- Education and inspiration to all who are a part of this process. As a family, we want to offer insight to all we have learned through this process. As a Certified Personal Chef and Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach, I want to pass along information on true and thriving health, along with foods and systems that will help and inspire others to implement positive changes in their own lives.
She has been a great source of inspiration to me, as I know she will always continue to be. We at Vintage Life Farm are thrilled to be donating to Kari Newsom’s dream!
